Parallel Session 2: How to value User Generated Content to promote inclusion, innovation and excellence in higher education? |
|
The quality framework to be discussed represents a unique and state of the art suggestion of a process for fostering dialogue and consensus building on quality of User generated content (UGC). It is innovative in that: - this framework is based on the assumption that UGC must not be anonymous and it is expected to link content creators and users reviews to their e-portfolios in a 2.0 learning environment
- It is based on learners peers reviews of UGC, institutional level of Quality Assurance (primarily represented by teachers) and dialogue among the representatives of these 2 levels to reach a consensus
- It is intended to be non-bureaucratic and flexible, recognizing the variety of situations across user generated learning experiences and the importance of contextualise them
- It is expected to be a Transparent process, providing easy, publicly accessible information on the quality criteria adopted and discussed
- It is expected to foster creativity innovation and organisational change into HE by fostering the introduction of innovative learning experiences into HE practices
- It is expected to lay the foundations for an European strategy for Quality Assurance of UGC
CONCEDE also intends to enhance the quality of user generated content into Higher Education in a perspective of: - Internationalisation – by fostering international exchange of good practices in relation to quality frameworks for UGC
- interculturality – responding to the need to develop a an authentic cross cultural UGC quality framework and taking into consideration cultural factors influencing the adoption and use of UGC
- “Inter-context-of-use” dimension - responding to the need to study adoption and use of UGC according to a logic that goes beyond the traditional sector-based approach and boundaries between formal and informal learning and becomes aware of the importance of learning contexts
- Holistic multilayer approach to quality assurance
Participants will enter a dialogue-oriented session, generate new ideas and come up with concrete suggestions how to value User Generated Content to promote inclusion, innovation and excellence in higher education. Session organised by the project on Content Creation Excellence through Dialogue in Education (CONCEDE http://www.concede.cc/), targeting Higher Education Facilitators: Mr. Thomas Kretschmer (ILI, Germany), Mr. Walter Kugemann (EFQUEL, Belgium)
