On 25 May 2010, a day before eLearning Africa openend ist doors, the Open ECBCheck international Asdvisory Committee met in Lusaka. The meeting was this time co-loceated to the UNeLearning meeting, which invited the Open ECBCheck group to present and dicuss the progress of the certification scheme. Over 12 organisations from 10 countries were present to endorse progress which had been made since the last Open ECBCheck Meeting in Berlin in December 2009, and to agree on next steps.

The meetings showed that the publication of the first official release to the Open ECBCheck Standards in February 2010 had given a major boost to the initiative. More and more organisations want to be part of the user group of the international agreed standards and go to www.ecb-check.org, sign the Open ECBCheck charter in order to become part of the quality community and use the tools developed.

During the meeting the new online self-assessment tool was presented and received feedback from participants. The tool can be reach from the "My Open ECBCheck ". Self-registration is possible. Together with the new online tool, also an offline version has been developed which can be downloaded in the downlad area of the portal (Klick here!). The offline version is now running as a pilot version which will be published as final product later this year. Together with the toolkit of Open ECBCheck , the background materials have been released officially in form of the Open ECBCheck Handbook. The publication can be access and downloaded in the download area as well and gives inside into all concepts about the research and development of the self-assessment tools and criteria frameworks. The meeting resulted into review partnerships in which organisations agreed to collaborated and mutually review their programmes and courses on basis of the Open ECBCheck self-assesment. Until November 2010 the review process will be finalised and will then be made a vailable to other interested organisations, as well. The delegates agreed to meet again in Berlin, Germany, a day before the Online Educa 2010.
